31 August 2018

  1. More editing done.
  2. Got our daughter's birthday presents.
  3. Three day weekend.

30 August 2018

  1. More editing done on my WIP.
  2. Managed to juggle many errands and appointments. (Mostly just glad it's over.)
  3. Sweet, loving kitties.

29 August 2018

  1. Well, my ear is doing a wee bit better.
  2. Have started a major overhaul of my WIP. Think it will be much better for the changes.
  3. House restocked with groceries.

28 August 2018

Red Eye Edition

I've been away because my right eye had a scratched cornea. Ugh. Guess I'm grateful for healing, and that it wasn't worse. I still have it a lot better than most people. At this point I'll be glad to see the end of August.

24 August 2018

  1. House is finally painted!
  2. My promo for Brynnde is off to a good start.
  3. First week of school down and successful.

23 August 2018

  1. Got groceries and remaining school supplies with no real trouble.
  2. Finally wrote another bit of that fanfic on spooklights.
  3. Painters are almost done. Just one more day, I think.

22 August 2018

  1. Ear infection has cleared. (It will be a few weeks, however, before the perforation heals. So I continue to be partially deaf for now.)
  2. Made more progress with my WIP, including outlining some stuff to make it clearer for myself so that I can in turn make it clear to the readers.
  3. PTA meeting went smoothly. Not that it ever doesn't. I mean, we're not a rowdy bunch. 😜

21 August 2018

  1. Progress on the house, and the paint color looks great.
  2. Got more editing done.
  3. No errands or appointments today. Just getting the kids to and from school.

20 August 2018

  1. First day of school! And the kids all seem to like their teachers. Fingers crossed for a good year.
  2. The house painters started work.
  3. Per the doctor, daughter's rash doesn't appear to be anything very serious.

19 August 2018

  1. Grateful for the existence of Doctors on Demand, which allowed a doctor to prescribe an antibiotic for our daughter. Saved us a trip to urgent care and/or the ER. (And the daughter is fine, btw.)
  2. Repotted the tomato plant.
  3. Sushi as the last-day-of-summer dinner.

18 August 2018

  1. New bedding. It's so much prettier than the old stuff we had and goes much better in the room.
  2. Took the kids to Dave & Buster's for the first time.
  3. Got more editing done.

17 August 2018

My youngest turned 9, but we're saving the party for tomorrow. Today he just wanted to play his new video games, so we let him. I got some editing done. A fairly placid day all around. And we did have ice cream cake!

16 August 2018

  1. Clean house.
  2. Kids have fresh haircuts for the start of school.
  3. I'm seeing slow progress with my ear.

15 August 2018

In-laws took me and the kids out to lunch and then watched the kids so I could go to the ENT. Turns out my left ear has moderate hearing loss, but it's not permanent; once we clear the infection and see the eardrum healed, I should regain my hearing. Now I have to have gunk in my ear for a week, then they'll suck that out and check the drum. Sigh. BUT. Once again, so glad to have access to care, and also grateful it's nothing more serious.

14 August 2018

  1. Kids found out today who their teachers will be, and they are very happy. (Me, too, because I know both teachers and like them both.)
  2. Ear hurts marginally less than yesterday?
  3. Morning walk with the kids. Means I didn't hit my goal for my walk, but it was still nice. At least they all still want to spend time with me...

13 August 2018

  1. Met with the vice-principal at the middle school to go over my son's schedule and make sure he's all set for the coming school year. The VP is amazing, and we're so lucky to have such a great school.
  2. Showing the kids Fushigi Yugi.
  3. Got better sleep than I had the past few nights.

12 August 2018

  1. Cute new Pusheen backpack.
  2. Cute new Slytherin cardigan.
  3. Bath bombs.

Let's just say retail therapy in general cuz my ear is really aching and I need all the emotional boosts I can get.

11 August 2018

  1. Got the chocolate shake I'd been craving.
  2. Made progress with my WIP.
  3. Afternoon nap.

10 August 2018

  1. I had the doc prescribe me some antibiotics because my ear was starting to feel worse and was occasionally dripping some clear liquid... Lovely, I know, but I'm grateful to have access to doctors and medicine when I need them.
  2. Got more editing done.
  3. My oldest did well in his first ever chess tournament. He came in third over all and also won the Sportsmanship Award.

09 August 2018

Well, it turns out I have a ruptured eardrum. So that's fun. Still, there are things to be grateful for:

  1. Getting some editing done.
  2. Husband stayed home to help me out since I needed to go see the doctor and also had a full slate of other errands and appointments.
  3. . . . M&Ms?

I won't deny it's been a struggle lately to find the silver lining. But I keep trying.

08 August 2018

  1. Kids got thumbs up from the eye doctor. One more appointment to mark off my list.
  2. Helping my daughter teach the cats tricks. (So far they're doing pretty well with "sit.")
  3. Stayed home while the rest of the family went to the ballgame. Sure, it was because my left ear is messed up, but still nice to have the house to myself for a bit.

07 August 2018

  1. A modicum less of running around was required today.
  2. Another good morning walk. I definitely prefer walking early, while it's cooler.
  3. I'm slowly recovering after coming into contact with some food allergens. I've managed to avoid that for years, so it was quite a shock to me and my system when it happened.

06 August 2018

  1. Survived running around, taking the kids to this and that activity.
  2. Had a nice time with my writing group.
  3. Only two more weeks until school starts.

05 August 2018

  1. Dumb movies.
  2. Morning walks.
  3. People who reblog your posts.

04 August 2018

1-3. Being home. After so much travel, it's nice to be home and sleep in my own bed and love on my cats.

03 August 2018

  1. Miyuki sushi.
  2. Introducing the kids to the Santa Cruz Boardwalk.
  3. Cute bookstores.
