30 November 2017

  1. Productive morning that included dropping off my son's history notebook (after he called from school asking for it), picking up some printouts because my printer died on me, and buying hangers because I have too many clothes now.
  2. Another fun writing group meeting. I have two groups now: one for my Changers 2 project and another for my Regency romance project. Yay!
  3. Just so grateful that I'm capable of as much as I am and do. So many people struggle, and I am very fortunate. I'm healthy. I have a car. I have enough money to meet my needs. Sure, I'd like to lose some weight. Sure, I'd like to make more money. But overall, I have it really good. It's good to stop and realize that and have gratitude for it.

It was all downhill from there, really. But I'm still grateful for things like my health and our upcoming vacation. Even when I'm not feeling it in my heart, I know how good I've got it.

  2. My copy of 21st Century Yokel finally arrived! I've had the ebook version for a while now, but I'm just so happy to hold it in my hands.
  3. The Big Sick. I'd heard a lot about it, and usually movies don't live up to the hype, but this one was as good as promised.
Bonus: The Tumblr about the Passion play: "You get out of it this time, Jesus!" That's going to be my new catchphrase.

08 November 2017

  1. I received the loveliest, most encouraging note ever from an agent—even though it was a rejection. Seriously, it's the kind of thing you print and hang on your wall. Made my day.
  2. A good review for my new Sherlock Holmes Professor Moriarty story.
  3. The best tortelloni I've ever had and also the best caramel popcorn I've ever had (though not at the same time because that would be weird).

07 November 2017

  1. Another relaxing morning. And a productive day. I got a couple items on my to-do list taken care of.
  2. Started a new writing project. Which is NOT what I need right now since I have plenty of projects I need to finish, but this felt good—no weight, no expectation tied to it.

04 November 2017

  1. Sleeping in
  2. Thor: Ragnarok
  3. Gaining an hour? I don't love daylight savings, but if I have to go one way on the clock, back is better, right?

03 November 2017

Released my latest short story!
. . . That counts for three, I think. I mean, it was a fine day in any case. I helped kids read and got to stay for their music lesson. The leak in the upstairs bathroom got fixed with relative ease. Went shopping and found a Sagittarius coffee mug. Good stuff.
